My name is Fabio Cafardo and I am on my second year of PhD in Astrophysics at IAG-USP under the supervision of Prof. Rodrigo Nemmen.
I am very interested in high energy Astrophysics, in particular in supermassive black holes.
The topic of my research project is the investigation of Sagittarius A* (SgrA*) – the supermassive black hole in the center of Our Galaxy – in gamma-rays using data from the Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT).
The aim is to provide insights into the high energy process occurring in the vicinity of SgrA*.
Research interests:
- High-energy astrophysics, in particular gamma-ray observations of active galactic nuclei
- Massive black holes in active galactic nuclei
- The physics of black holes
